This morning, I had to do one of the hardest things that a priest ever has to to do – telling the congregation in Bridge of Allan that my time at St Saviour’s is drawing to a close.
I’m going to be moving to the Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway to become the Provost of St Mary’s Cathedral in Glasgow in May.
It is one of the very strangest combination of feelings. On the one hand, I’m excited and looking forward to what is to come whilst on the other, leaving here is going to be such a wrench. St Saviour’s could not have been a more perfect first charge, and without doubt, the last years have been the happiest in my life. Not surprisingly then, it feels very strange to be moving on.
There is more about St Mary’s here for anyone wanting to know where I’m going.
