Marriage Equality for Anglicans in Brazil

I have just issued the following statement:

“I am delighted to hear that the Anglican Church in Brazil has just changed its marriage canon to allow same-sex couples to get married. As we have rejoiced in St Mary’s Cathedral Glasgow in recent months with couples who have waited years to be married in church, so we rejoice with couples doing the same thing in Brazil.

“All God’s children are equally beloved. We rejoice as greater equality comes to another part of the Anglican Communion”

  1. Alan McCulloch says

Bravo!! The world is changing and is beginning to know that the love of God is for us all! At St Mary’s we are so lucky to know that love is there for all without conditions or exceptions.

  2. Meg Rosenfeld says

Alleluia! It’s nice to get some good news.

  3. Mark Bowyer says

    Great news! Alleluia!

  4. What a wonderful milestone for our brothers and sisters in Brazil. Gradually Christ’s message of all-embracing love is winning out over exclusion and elitism. Thanks be to God!

  5. So glad that same-sex couples can get married in the Scottish Episcopal Church and now in the Anglican Church of Brazil. As an Episcopalian in the States, It’s exciting to know that more churches in the Anglican Communion are recognizing that God loves us all no matter what our sexual or gender orientation is and that same-sex couples have every right to marry in the church.
