Bishop Kevin -he says indaba means meeting together for purposeful discussion. We will go into groups during the Mission and Ministry session. We will discuss things that the Mission and Ministry Board have laid before us. Then later, we will do the same to discuss the Covenant.

Synod agrees to give Religious Communities a right to elect a lay rep regardless of their size. (I speak and vote against but motion is carried).

Committee of Canons – Canon 62 – Of the Retiral of Clergy
Second reading is asked to make retirement procedures the same for stipendiary and non-stipendiary office holders. Jeremy Auld presents the new amendments. Synod is asked to accept the Annual Report of Accounts. David Palmer thanks the Boards and Committees for continuing to work within very constrained budgets. Standing Committee will be focusing on Whole Church Mission and Ministry policy (presumably, if we agree it).
