For reasons too complicated to go into here, I need to revive computer programming skills that I last used 20 years ago. I have a particular task, to do with mapping the local council wards, which I think can only be perfomed using Prolog. I was always fascinated with this logic based language but never terribly competent. Telling a computer the questions and having it work out the answer always seemed like dark magic. However, learn again I must and that means trying to comprehend some books that I found hard work a long time ago. It is strange going to the University of Stirling Library and digging out familiar yet almost forgotten texts.
