Sound of Music

An inspired offering from the BBC – just press the red button on your digital handset during the film and the lyrics of the songs of the Sound of Music come up on the screen. Tilly and I had a sing-a-long at the tops of our voices.

There is a lot going on in the Sound of Music. I find that I am still fascinated by the wedding scene – locked up nuns, lurking Nazis, a bejewelled altar, assorted clergy including a bishop in full regalia and a very full congregation, whilst the nuns belt out one of the kitchest of numbers in the whole thing. I'd like to understand what this all means, but I suspect that I am not prepared to do a Film and Media studies course or engage in three years of psychotherapy to find out. I shall ponder it as evening turns into night though.

I went up the aisle to the same music as Maria Von Trappe- don't tell  anyone though!

Oh and I also had Eidelweiss in my wedding bouquet
Hope it wasn't supposed to bring luck!
