   So matter of fact!  Have you no idea how much stress is involved in having your feet washed? Hours of contemplating, do I or don't I!  In the end I did!

   the dilemma in our corner was more, if we don't then it might look like we have foot problems!!
   a stressful decision but ^{worth doing. It wa a really beautiful service}

   I think that I do know how stressful it is for people to be offered the footwashing. I must admit that I never understood it until I did it. I always thought that it was a power play, and all about role reversal. When I started to wash feet myself, in Perth about 7 years ago, I realised that it is much more about intimacy than power.

   I also always remember the first person who washed my feet at this service, in an interesting church in the East End of London. Indeed, at the Watch after this service this year, I found myself recalling all the many people I've shared it with over the years.
