The G8 leaders are coming to the Auchterarder Railway Hotel (aka Gleneagles), just up the road at about this time next year. There is likely to be a lot of disruption locally. Perhaps not rioting in Bridge of Allan, though rioting somewhere not too far away, without a doubt. There will also be a lot of road closures during the visit, apparently including the motorway up to Perth.
I was pondering whether it would be better to stay around here for the duration, join in a [mild] demonstration, or go on holiday. However, I've just realised that even the last option will be complicated. When I go on holiday, the cat goes to Cat Prison, which is located very close to Gleneagles.
