The story is this – the Democrats in the US have given a very select group of bloggers space at their convention to cover the event online on their blogs for the rest of the world.
So far so dull.
Or so I thought until I realised that one of the 15 or so bloggers who has been invited is one of the people whose blog I read on a regular basis. All of a sudden, I have a focussed interest in an event which otherwise does not concern me at all. I find myself having an opinion on the addresses, the candidates and even the balloons.
