I’m sent copies of books to review from time to time – they get published in the Episcopalian newspaper. Today someone sent a copy of the bible.
It is very tempting to write a review as though neither I nor any reader had read it before at all.
However, I think that there are things that I want to say about this particular version – it is a Contemporary English Version Youth Bible. This seems to mean simplified language with prissy text-boxes all the way through telling you not to have sex until you are married.
Especially in the Song of Songs.
Full page text boxes telling you not to have sex until you are married inserted into the Song of Songs, oh yes.
I suppose that I had better spend a little longer looking at it before writing the review in full.
