Carpet Fitting

Oh the upheaval of having a carpet fitted.

The whole house is in turmoil. My filing cabinets are at the foot of the stairs, one desk is in pieces in the dining room, another is in front of the television, the piano is in the hall, the old carpet takes up the rest of the hall (I cannot move it any further on my own), the computers are balanced precariously hither and yon, though all still connected to broadband etc and the cat minces through the rubble with a frown.

She has come back from a stay in Cat Prison whilst I was on holiday with a touch of hair-ball trouble.

No doubt she is planning her own special welcome for the carpet.

Oh yes, of course I could keep the door to the study closed for a few days to keep the cat off the new carpet. I could, if the door was still hanging from its hinges.
