Down to St Peter’s (& St Mildred’s) Linlithgow on Sunday evening for very enjoyable Taiz? prayer service. It is a lovely church. It is small and with everyone sitting under a dome, has a distinctly orthodox feel. It is also purple.
Ruth and the congregations there were in good form and sang very well. They sing instinctively in harmony in Linlithgow, which is a blessing for any church.
After the service Ruth and I had a night on the tiles with a couple of other clerical friends. Well, a night on the tiles appears to mean going to an Italian restaurant. Very funny moment when the waiter addressed one of us (the only one wearing a clerical collar) as Father and all four of us answered, including Mother Ruth.
