Walking across the campus of the University of Stirling before 9 o'clock in the morning in Freshers' Week is an opportunity for quiet reflection. You can almost hear the grass grow and can certainly hear it being eaten by the rabbits.
There is a sense that everyone has been unable to face the day due for some reason. The combination of absence and rabbits conveys an earie mixture of Big Brother and the Tellytubies.
Semester is beginning here.
