I've been working on a new website. It is the new website for the Diocese of St Andrews, Dunblane and Dunkeld. It is just about ready to be seen by the world and should be launched by the end of the week.
Anyone wanting a sneak preview can see it here: http://diocese.maniple.co.uk
Tell me if there are any glaring mistakes now!
Re: New website
Looks great- well done. Will all the diocesan websites employ your gifts to get a uniform look and feel? There really ought to be someone employed full-time on this ministry, don’t you think?
Re: New website
I do think that someone ought to be working full-time on this kind of ministry. (Though I don’t really want that person to be me).
The different diocesan websites all have their own flavour, and unfortunately, I don’t think that the dioceses want things imposed on them. As of today, the Diocese of Glasgow has a good site, Edinburgh has one with a lot of data but which is hard to navigate and which won’t fit on anyone’s monitor, Brechin don’t know what their url is and have a site which is has an even stranger template than Edinburgh & Moray’s is more than a little challenging on the eyes and with lots of pop-up windows. Argyll’s, interestingly is not too bad. Entertainingly, the Aberdeen website has been hacked by someone selling credit cards. It has also been hacked by the Church of England I think, as it features lots of invitations to daily prayer from south of the border.
Of the many things that I have done in St Saviour’s, having a good website has been a consistent factor in attracting new people to the church. Go figure.
Re: New website
Kelvin – I think this is brilliant – modern looking, cheerful and direct. Well done you. Now keeping it up to date will be the challenge. Thanks for it. David
Re: New website
St. James the Great, Dollar is not in Harvesting Road.
It’s Harviestoun Road, methinks
Re: New website
Many thanks for the Dollar correction – the information was all copied from the previous website where it has been Harvesting Road for some time. New site now updated.
Re: New website
An interesting Freudian slip?
“The harvest is plentiful but the labourers are few.”
Blessings.
