It made my Christmas Day to see the Young Church streaming down the road all dressed up in their Nativity gear, all ready to retell the story for the rest of us. Lots and lots of Magi and angels this year. Fewer shepherds, though they did a good job. I spotted one of the angels helping out with the sheep at one point.
Best part of the story was this:
"Joseph was absolutely gobsmacked when he found out that Mary was going to have a baby, he thought she had been unfaithful so decided to break off the engagement. That night Joseph was sound asleep, when an Angel appeared to him in a dream and told him not to dump Mary."
Church this morning was three times fuller than last Christmas Day. Young Church are superstars.
The part you quaoted from the Young Church Nativity presentation was indeed inspired. A 21st century retelling of the story. Well done Young Church!
