Ethics

I’m going to spend some time tomorrow with some of the people moving into ministry in the Scottish Episcopal Church. They have a Ministry Reflections Course once a month or so.

Tomorrow evening is called "Being a critical reflector".

It has got me thinking about ethics again. Sometimes the internal differences that get exposed in the church are blamed on different ways of reading the Bible. I think that it is more subtle than that. In a way, I think that there is a lot of trouble because we don’t have a very healthy repertoire of ethical thinking. Also, we don’t have enough of an understanding of how ethics develop over time.
