Auctioneer's Visit

Today’s excitement/trauma was a visit from the auctioneers in Falkirk who took very many goods and chattels away to be sold.

Anyone wanting to buy the Kelvin Holdsworth Memorial Table and Chairs (at which he ate his daily porridge in Bridge of Allan) needs to make their way to the auction rooms in Falkirk next Wednesday.

I’ve now lost track of the number of people who have said to me "Why do you need a skip, how much stuff do you have". All I can do in response is point to the number of rooms in the rectory here – 4 public rooms and at least as many bedrooms (depending on how you count). They all had things in them, thanks mostly to the kindness of friends and strangers when I moved in.

Just for the record, many thanks, but I need no furniture this time around.

So how did the Auction go? Where there any bidding wars on undiscovered treasures?

    Actually, I don’t know.

I’ll get an account in a month or so. Right now, I don’t want to know.
