Ceilidh Invitation

Rather at the last minute, a decision has been made to celebrate the anniversary of the consecration of St Mary’s (ie the consecration of the building), this weekend.

According to the records kept at the time, the Hallelujah Chorus by Beethoven was sung at the consecration. Unfortunately, we’ve been unable to find that one, but have an acceptable substitute, which will be sung as the Gradual at the 1000 service.

In the evening, there will be a Festival Evensong (Te Deum and all) followed by a ceilidh which is mostly being arranged by choir members.

If you are reading this, you are invited. Bring a friend. If you don’t have a friend to bring, come anyway and meet some new ones.

(Oh yes, and it is my 40th birthday on Sunday, does that have anything to do with it all?)
