The local Amnesty International group meets in St Mary’s every Thursday evening. Last night was the first chance that I have had to pop in and say hello since I arrived in St Mary’s last year. It was good to see the group alive and well. Letter writing campaigns were in full swing and several initiative are coming up to raise the profile of several human rights campaigns.
One of them is an exhibition in Glasgow of photographs called Protect the Human. It takes place at the Hallion Club from 19-24 Feb – open each day between 1700 and 2200. Going to it would be a good Lenten activity, when Lent comes along.
The Amnesty Group meets in St Mary’s on the second Thursday in each month at 1930.
