Doors Open

Before and after a wedding that I was taking at Glasgow University Chapel, I dropped in to St Mary’s to say hello to some of the people who were there for the Doors Open event. All across the city today and tomorrow lots of buildings are open to visitors and we are one of them. Over 100 folk came in today.

It is always nice to put a face to a name or a blog reader. Amongst the visitors to church was Pat, who runs the Glasgow West End Website and amongst the wedding crowd was someone who reads this blog whom I had not said hello to before.

The wedding was broadcast live on webcam to a waiting world. Did you see it? (It only seems to work in internet explorer, grumpety, grumpety, grump)

  1. Drat, missed the interesting live bits. But I’ve got it running now with mplayer using http://commsvs1.cent.gla.ac.uk/chapel directly. Was nice getting organ music here.

Some of the angles are a bit strange – white ?carpet? sections with strong black lines.

No, not white carpet. Marble with black lines. All the better for lining the couple up on.

  3. Ah, I see.

Now experiencing geekish techno-lust… should be more of these webcams 🙂

  4. Maybe a webcam at St Mary’s especially good for those who are unable to get to 10:30 and/or 6:30 services on a Sunday.
