I’ve heard about fighting in Christian churches in Israel/Palestine at the great festivals before, but the video above does show it rather graphically.
The fighting is a consequence of thinking of one’s Christian mission territorially.
The Scottish Episcopal Church generally tends to sit rather lightly to territoriality. We don’t really have much of a concept of parish boundaries to defend, thank God. One of the things I’ve been banging on about all year in many meetings is that we shouldn’t re-introduce it.
The consequence of thinking about one’s Christian mission in terms of territory is a broom-fight of one kind or another, sooner or later.
