• The Case for Same-Sex Marriage

The Equality Network has just published a great resource as part of the final push towards the legalisation of same-sex marriage in Scotland.

It is called Six Reasons to Support Same-Sex Marriage. It can be found for free online but there are also nice printed versions available from the Equality Network too.

Here’s a pic of the cover.

What’s that? What’s that you ask?

Oh, you’re asking who that is on the front cover between the Proclaimers and Alan Cumming?

Yep. And I think that the Primus has got it badly wrong in responding to this one.

Allowing political and religious ad would turn us into another US, where political and religious “debate” centres on who can raise, or already has, the most money.

Oh yes, and while we’re at it we had better ban all films from public showing which contain any religious content – eg: ‘Schindlers List’, ‘Brooklyn’, ‘Magdalen Sisters’, ‘Fury’, ‘Amazing Grace’, ‘Doubt’, etc, etc. We should not risk offending anyone should we? Idiocy – whose idiocy?

Surely wanting political and religious ads banned from cinemas is about good taste rather than offence.

Just as all of us who are about my age or younger in the UK are Thatcher’s children in one way or another, regardless of what…

There has been quite a lot of chatter about the Principal of Wycliffe Hall, Richard Turnbull. A video made of a speech that he made to Reform (the Nasty Party of the C of E) has even been commented upon in the papers. (Guardian here and Independent here). He identifies key marks of what Evangelicalism…

Might as well add a MySpace profile whilst I’m at it. Do I have any friends?

Can’t make my mind up about these social networking thingies. However, so many people seem to be living their lives through them that there does not seem any option but to join in. So, there is a new St Mary’s Cathedral group on Facebook. If you are connected with the Cathedral and have a Facebook…
