• Marriage Equality for Anglicans in Brazil

I have just issued the following statement:

“I am delighted to hear that the Anglican Church in Brazil has just changed its marriage canon to allow same-sex couples to get married. As we have rejoiced in St Mary’s Cathedral Glasgow in recent months with couples who have waited years to be married in church, so we rejoice with couples doing the same thing in Brazil.

“All God’s children are equally beloved. We rejoice as greater equality comes to another part of the Anglican Communion”

Are you sure it is just your ankle you have sprained?  Did you not bump your head at the same time?
Anyway-what's wrong with songs of praise-even if Thora what's her name is dead now?

I did not actually say that there was anything wrong with Songs of Praise. I am currently reading the “Songs of Praise Lent and Easter” book for review in the Episcopalian

It seems to be that with a weekly television experience, a new weekly magazine and now books about the liturgical year, Songs of Praise is on its way to being a denomination. It is only a matter of time before people going into hospital start to answer “Songs of Praise” when asked their religion.

well if Alpha can become a new religous movement, why cant Atkins? there are many similarities – bad breath, a hankering after fresh meat, and no booze or trash

  • Giving up marriage

I was intrigued by the statement made to the Equal Opportunities Committee of the Scottish Parliament of someone representing the Church of Scotland. They seemed to suggest that if they don’t get their way in stopping same-sex marriage then they might stop conducting marriages altogether. BBC report here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-24063468 I think that it is interesting…
