• A Hymn for the Feast of the Transfiguration

    Hey! Let me know you
You’re all that matters to me
    Hey! Let me show you
You’re all that matters to me
    Hey! Let me love you
You’re all that matters to me (Oh come on)
    Hey! So come on yeah
See the light on your face
Let it shine, just let it shine
Shine all your light over me
    Shine!

I’m sure I should have reacted in the same way as Mr Angry, which is why I never fly. It’s a form of claustrophobia – I also never travel by train if I can possibly avoid it, because passengers these days are powerless to open the windows and doors, and even to travel in a car with central locking is an ordeal. So, in effect, I can’t travel nowadays.

The last time I had a Mr Angry he was sat next to me in a very public place where my reputation was at stake. Also I have a professional connection with him. Inevitably I felt it all reflected on me. It was a bad experience. A really bad experience. Anger of that kind is, I suspect, needing professional help of some kind.

I’ve done the getting off the plane and spending the night in a hotel business, and I do not recommend it. 22 hours late. Our families were interviewed on local news.

Still not sure I wouldn’t rather do that again than sit through what sounds like one of the worst non-crashing flights in commercial aviation history.

Wonderful tale, Kelvin – we’re enjoying it as we sit with our feet up looking out over The Minch at the end of a perfect day on Berneray …(sorry!)

I received the message: "Comments are…

If you read a newspaper printed in England, or listen to the news from the BBC, you cannot be unaware that there is a huge row going on in the worldwide Anglican Church over the appointment of Bishop Gene Robinson in the USA and the events at the recent General Convention of the American Episcopal…

Heard the sound of an Orange Walk this evening, reminding me that not everything about Glasgow is great and glorious. It reminded me too that I had not been to St Columba’s yet. St Columba’s is the local RC parish to St Mary’s Cathedral, run by friendly Dominicans.Anyway, once the Orange lot had passed by,…

  • Look not upon the weeds

Mark’s pictures of his plants (and the blessing counting that he is applying to life) reminds me of today’s piece of wisdom, which is:Look not upon the weeds growing in profusion by the office door, look upon the pink poppies growing between them.I’ll post a pic, if I remember to take my camera to work.
