• Marriage Equality for Anglicans in Brazil

I have just issued the following statement:

“I am delighted to hear that the Anglican Church in Brazil has just changed its marriage canon to allow same-sex couples to get married. As we have rejoiced in St Mary’s Cathedral Glasgow in recent months with couples who have waited years to be married in church, so we rejoice with couples doing the same thing in Brazil.

“All God’s children are equally beloved. We rejoice as greater equality comes to another part of the Anglican Communion”

Lovely folks! Oh, do they make rainbow collars? You would certainly look striking in it! Of course you are striking in the black and white amongst all the other colorfully attired ones!

It was an honour to march in the light of God; an honour to be with others from St Mary’s and to be able to invite so many people to our church.

Congratulations to Stonewall for their Rainbow Laces campaign – trying to persuade the various football organisations to make a gesture to indicate that they are supportive of their gay players. For such organisations, it is a gesture that won’t cost them much. I’m pretty sure that for gay players themselves, all closeted at the moment,…

Once the law changes and we have access to marriage, is that it? Will equality have been achieved? Will we suddenly have become full citizens? Will the job be done? Here’s my run down of what we still need. We need it to be impossible for the authorities to accept a plea less than murder…
