• Forum with John Curtice

I was in conversation with Prof John Curtice about the General Election after the Sung Eucharist this morning.

We touched on what might happen at the election, how a UK government is actually formed, will proportional representation ever happen, will the SNP propose another referendum next year and what it is like being John Curtice in the middle of all this.

The conversation was recorded and is available here:

Have you invited the Primus to come along with his Brompton?

Personally, I doubt that bicycles are a helpful liturgical tool. The last time I was on one, it was in tandem with my training rector. We fell. We bled. Weeks passed before we could kneel at the daily office.

(though perhaps if bikes still came with sparkly ribbon streamers as they did when I was 8, I could be persuaded)

It sounds to me as though it would have been quite a good idea to have looked for a blessing before taking to the tandem.

+Primus has been invited by facebook.

      Natch.

Unlike with pets, bikes are less prone to accidents on the carpets.

I suspect that we don’t have enough acrobats in church these days. Take a look at this video from the Vatican showing us the way forward. I think that you’ll find that there is something for everyone in this video.

  • Cabin Fever

Am getting cabin fever, I think. First it was the snow and then I got a horrible snuffly head cold which has kept me grounded for a couple of days. Have not been able to accomplish terribly much over the last couple of days except to take once again to various lotions and potions. Did…

One of the things that I like about living round here is the diversity – lots of different people living cheek by jowl and by and large, getting on pretty well. Glasgow isn’t a particularly mixed city in comparison to many in the UK, but the square mile that I live in (along with a…
