Left Glasgow Airport at 9am this morning in torrential rain. The sun is currently shining in Gloucester (@4:45pm) – now was there not a nursery rhyme about a Doctor going to Gloucester in a shower of rain?

    (Very) Reverend rainmaker.
The rain seems to have coincided with an upsurge in the number of native American musicians in the city centre, although I think last year some of them were playing ‘The Flight of the Condor’ and claiming to be from Peru.

You’ve seen nothing like the weather in the Isle of Man in the last 48 hours. • Last Chance to see the Shoes

The shoe exhibition is open until 8 pm tonight and tomorrow night. We will have some kind of liturgical ending to the week – the Compline of the Shoes or something like that. Then it is all hands on deck to put the church back to rights. Shoes, spinning wheel, kettle, jazz CDs all have…

  • That Review

Oh dear, Bridge of Allan is all acluck over a review in last week's Sunday Times which focussed on Clive Ramsey's new restaurant. People are shocked at the vitriol in the review. Questions have even been asked at the local Community Council. How can we clear the name of our village? We have been slighted. It is very…
