Today is Lammas Day – Scotland’s traditional first fruits of the harvest day.

I’m still worried about the wild aspect though….. how hard can it be to get it right anyway????

Well, I saw the maniple in Argyll, only yards from the sea, so I am sure that it was in the wild.It was being worn correctly on the left arm, but was not removed when the wearer preached a sermon. (The sermon was quite good, but the presence of the maniple was obviously a little distracting).

Millport
Just back from a meeting in Millport. Cumbrae was bedrowsled with mist. It must have been the Millport Country & Western Music festival last week, I think – or perhaps it is still on. The lampposts were bedecked with US and Confederacy flags. I can’t help but think that Millport is surreal enough without this.
