• Any Questions on Marriage?

I’m going to be posting sometime over the next week a considered response to the announcement last week regarding marriage law reform in Scotland.

(Note that I’m not calling it Equal Marriage yet as it seems to me to be a step in that direction but very definitely not yet a proposal for equality).

I’ll be responding to comments and questions that have been raised off blog with me in the last week. Some in relation to what this means and some in relation to what it means within the church. Anyone who wants to ask anything or make a comment on here about all of this, is welcome to do so either in the comments, using the contact form or by twitter.

Wow! What a succinct and powerful statement of faith — in so few words. In this early very gray and cold morning the Saturday after Easter in Cleveland, Ohio, I sit quietly to absorb this before husband and child awake. My heart and spirit felt a start when I read and re-read these words. Thank you.

Hi Kelvin, I also enjoyed this Easter sermon. Will the Lenten addresses (“Why I am a Christian”) be available, even in text format? I’d be intrigued!

Thanks for the enquiry, Steven. Glad you liked the Easter sermon. I’m afraid the Lentan addresses were not recorded and nor do we have a complete set of texts for them. On this occasion, they are not going to make it online.

  • Pickets

There was a strike in the University of Stirling today. This led me to question whether as a Chaplain I should cross the picket line or join it. In the end, it did not matter as the pickets had dispersed before I got there. The last time I faced this dilemma, the pickets did a…

  • Parliament Costs Up Again

It is so hard to understand how the costs of the Holyrood parliament building appear to be rising again. One thing I do know is that it is bad for the politics business in general. It is hard for people to have confidence in decision makers who have presided over all of this. I am…
