I saw this painting recently in London. It purports to be St Monica being handed her newly born son who was to become Augustine of Hippo.
It seems to me that this painting explains much.

It was good. I knew it was good. Others knew it was good. You knew it was good. Therefore there was no need to comment.
This does not mean that the good goes unnoticed. I now know that you are good but it did not take a pictorial image to tell me so. -

Yes, Michael Hare-Duke really didn't like it. See – http://www.edinburghnews.com/index.cfm?id=1409042003I think that his point that we should not be dressing Jesus up in a Santa outfit was rather impeded by his being pictured dressed as a pantomime bishop.
